시글락에서 겪은 비극과 다윗의 반응 사무엘상 30장

1. 시글락의 약탈

시글락은 유다 왕국의 남쪽, 네게브 지역에 위치한 곳입니다. 유다 지파의 경계에 속하면서 에돔 족속의 지역과도 가까웠습니다. 이곳은 원래 시므온 지파에게 할당된 땅이었지만 사울 시대에는 블레셋 사람들의 통제 아래 있었습니다.

 

1~6절 내용은 다윗과 그의 용사들이 블레셋 사람들과 함께 이스라엘과의 전쟁에 참여하기 위해 멀리 떠난 사이 아말렉 사람들이 유다 남쪽과 그랄을 침략하여 시글락을 약탈합니다. 아말렉 사람들은 시글락에 불을 지르고 그곳에 남은 어린아이부터 모든 사람을 죽였습니다.

다윗과 그의 용사들이 시글락으로 돌아오니 성읍은 불에 타 있고, 자신들의 아내와 자녀들이 모두 사로잡혀 간 것을 알게 됩니다. 이로 인해 다윗과 함께 있던 백성들은 통곡하여 울었고 다윗도 깊은 슬픔에 잠깁니다.

 

1.Now when David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had made a raid against the Negeb and against Ziklag, They had overcome Ziklag and burned it with fire 2 and taken captive the women and all who were in it, both small and great. They killed no one, but carried David and his men came to the city, they sons and daughters taken captive. 4. Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and we[t until they had no more strength to weep. 5. David's two wives also had been taken captive, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel. 6.And spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

2. 다윗의 위로

백성들의 반발에 다윗은 심히 괴로워합니다. 다윗은 절망적인 상황 속에서도 하나님께 나아가 위로를 찾았음을 보여줍니다. 다윗은 제사장 아비아달에게 에봇을 가져오게 하여 신께 묻습니다. 그러자 신은 추격하면 반드시 도로 찾을 수 있을거라고 응답했다고 합니다.

 

7. And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, "Bring me the ephod to David. 8 And David enquired of the Lord, "Shall I pursue after this band? Shall I overtake them?" He answered him, "Pursue, for you shall surely overtake and shall surely rescue." 9. So David set out, and the six hundred men who were with him, and they came to the brook Besor, where those who were left behind stayed. 10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men. Two too exhausted to cross the brook Besor.

3. 다윗의 추격

다윗은 600명의 용사들과 함께 즉시 아말렉 사람들을 추격합니다. 그러나 브솔 시내에 이르러서 200명의 용사들은 지쳐 떨어져 나가고 다윗과 400명의 용사만 남아 있게 됩니다.

그러다 그들은 이집트 사람을 만나게 되었는데 그는 사흘 밤낮 동안 아무것도 먹지 못한 채 버려져 있었습니다. 그러자 용사들은 그에게 떡과 물, 무화과 뭉치와 건포도 두 뭉치를 주어 기력을 회복하게 합니다. 다윗은 그에게 아말렉 사람들이 약탈한 곳을 알려주면 살려주겠다고 약속합니다. 이집트 사람은 다윗을 아말렉 사람들의 진영으로 인도합니다.

 

11. They found an Egyptian in the open country and brought him to David. And they gave him bread and he ate. They gave him water to drink, 12. and they gave him a piece of a cake of higs and two clusters of raisins. And when he had eaten, his spirit revived, for he had not eaten bread or drunk water for theree days and three nights. 13 And David said to him , "To whom do you belong? And where are you from?" He said, "I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite, and my master left me ehind because I fell sick three days aga. 14 We had made a raid against the Negeb of the Cherethites and against that which belongs to Judah and against the Negeb of Caleb, and we burned Ziklag with fire." 15 And David said to him, "Will you take me down to this band?" And he said, "Swear to me by God that you will not kill me or deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will take you down to this band."

4. 아말렉의 전멸과 되찾음

그렇게 다윗은 아말렉 진영을 전멸하고 전리품을 나눠 가지고 즐겼습니다. 다윗은 빼앗겼던 것을 완벽하게 도로 되찾았습니다. 전리품 분배 논쟁에 관해서도 다윗은 지혜로운 결정을 하였습니다.

400명의 용사들은 중도에 포기한 200명 그리고 악한 자들 및 불량배들에게는 전리품을 못 나눠 주겠다고 합니다. 그러자 다윗은 그들의 주장을 단호히 거부하며 모든 전리품을 똑같이 나눠 갖게 하였습니다.

 

다윗은 싸움에 내려갔던 자나 소유물 곁에 머물렀던 자나 받을 분깃은 동일하다고 선언하였고 모든 전리품을 똑같이 나누게 합니다. 그리고 이후부터 이 제도는 이스라엘의 법으로 제정되어 대대로 이어지게 됩니다. 

 

16 And when he had taken him down, behold, they were spread abroad over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah. 17 And David struck them down from twilight until the evening of the next day, and not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men, who mounted camels and fled. 18 David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and David rescued his two wives. 19 Notheing was missing, whether small or great, sons or daughters spoil or anything, that had been taken. David brought back everything. 20 David also captured all the flocks and herds, and the people drove the livestock before him. and said, "This David came to the two hundred men who had been too exhausted to follow David, and who had been left at the brook Besor. And they went out to meet David and to meet the people who were with him. And when David came near to the people he greeted them. 22 Then all the wicked and worthless fellows among the men who had gone with David said, "Because they did not go with us, we will not give them any of the spoil that we have recovered, except that each man may lead away his wife and children, and depart." 23 But David said, "You shall not do so, my brothers, with what the Lord has given us. my brothers, with what the Lord has given us. He has preserved us and given into our hand the band that came against us. 24 Who would listen to you in this matter? For as his share is who goes down into the battle, so shall his share be who stays by the baggage. They shall share alike." 29. And he made it a statute and a rule for Israel from that day forward to this day.

 

 26. When David came to Ziklag, he sent part of the spoil to his friends, the elders of Judah, saying, "Here is a present for you from the spoil of the enemies of the Lord." 27. It was for those in Bethel, in Ramoth of the Negeb, in Jattir, 29 in Racal, in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, in the cities of the Kenites, 30 in Hormah, in Borashan, in Athach, 31 in. Hebron, for all the places where David and his men had roamed.

 

다윗은 전리품 중에서 일부를 유다 장로들과 자신이 그전에 도움을 받았던 여러 성읍에 보냈습니다. 이는 다윗이 속한 유다 지파 내에세의 입지를 강화하고 동맹 관계를 다지는 중요한 행동이었습니다.
