소변 보러 갔다가 잡힌 사울왕과 다윗의 대화 사무엘상 24장

사무엘상 24장은 다윗이 자신을 죽이려 쫓아다니는 사울 왕을 죽일 수 있는 절호의 기회가 있음에도 사울을 살려주는 이야기입니다.

1.사울의 추격

다윗은 엔게디 지역의 염소 바위 근처 동굴에 숨어 있었나 봅니다. 이곳은 엔게디 광야 일대의 사해 서쪽 험준한 벼랑과 바위 지대로 험준한 지역에 속합니다. 아무래도 야생 산양 지역인가 본데요. 현재까지도 들염소들이 많이 있는 것으로 보이네요.

1. When Saul returned from following the Philistines, he was told, "Behold, David is in the wilderness of Engedi." 2. Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel and went to seek David and his men in front of the Wildgoats' Rocks.

 

1.1. 소변이 마려웠던 사울

그와중에 급소변이 마려웠던 사울은 동굴 안에서 볼일을 보려다 딱 잡히고 말았습니다. 다윗 잡으러 왔다가 소변을 못 참고 다윗에게 역으로 잡히고 말았네요. 이런 코미디가 다 있나 싶습니다.

 

3 And he came to the sheepfolds by the way, where there was a cave, and Saul went in to relieve himself. Now David and his men were sitting in the innermost parts of the cave. 4 And the men of David said to him,  "Here is the day of which the LOrd said to you,  'Behold, I will give your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it shall seem good to you.'" Then David arose and stealthily cut off a coner of Sauls robe. 5 AND afterwards Davids heart struck him, because he had cut off a corner of Sauls robe. 6. He said to his men, "THe Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, the Lord's anointed, to put out my hand against him, seeing he is the Lord's anointed." 7. So David persuaded his men with these words and did not permit them to attack Saul. ANd Saul rose up and left the cave and went on his way.

부하들은 사울을 안 죽이면 다윗 너가 죽으니 얼른 죽이라고 한 것 같은데 신실한 다윗은 사울도 하나님의 기름 부음을 받은 자인데 어찌 함부로 내가 죽일 수 있겠느냐며 안 죽이고 부하들에게도 죽이지 말라고 합니다. 대체 기름 부음이 뭔지 참 아이러니합니다. 

2.다윗의 호소와 허수아비 왕으로 탄생한 사울에 관하여

사울왕에 관해 알아보기

 

용변은 보고 나왔는지 사울은 동굴 밖으로 나오고 다윗도 따라 나섭니다. 그리고 사울을 향해 겸손하게 인사합니다. 그리고 다윗은 사울을 죽일 의도가 없다는 것을 증명하기 위해 베어낸 겉옷 자락을 보여줍니다.  그리고 다윗은 자신을 죽은 개나 벼룩에 비유하며 자신이 왕에게 해가 되지 않는 존재임을 강조합니다. 그리고 모든 판단과 심판을 하나님께 맡긴하고 합니다. 

 

8.Afterwards David also arose and went out of the cave, and called after Saul,"My lord the king!" And when Saul looked behind him, David bowed with his face to the earth and paid homage. 9 And David said to Saul, "Why do you listen to the words of men who say, 'Behold, David seeks your harm'?

 

10 Behold, this day your eyes have seen how the Lord gave you today into my hand in the cave. And some told me to kill you, but I spared you. I said, 'I will not put out my hand against my lord, for he is the LORD'S ANOINTED.' 11 See, my father, see the corner of your robe in my hand. For by the fact that I cut off the corner of your robe and did not kill you, you may know and see that there is no wrong or treason in my hands. I have not sinned against you, though you hunt my life to take it. 12 May the Lord judge between me and you, may the LORD avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you. 13 As the proverb of the ancients says, 'Out of the wicked comes wickedness.' But my hand shall not be against you. 14 After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom do you pursue? After a dead dog! After a flea! 15 May the Lord therefore be judge and give sentence between me and you, and see to it and plead my cause and deliver me from your and."

3. 사울의 통곡

다윗의 진심을 안 사울은 통곡하였습니다. 나는 너를 학대하였는데 너는 나에게 이렇게 선대하니 너는 나보다 의롭다면서 자신의 잘못을 인정했습니다.

 

 16 As soon as David had finished speaking these words to Saul, Saul said, "Is this your voice, my son David?" And Saul lifted up his voice and wept. 17 He said to David, "You are more righteous than I, for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil. 18 AND you have declared this day how you have dealt well with me, in that you did not kimm me when the LORD put me into your hands. 19 For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him go away safe? So may the Lord reward you with good for what you have done to me this day.

 

그리고는 사울은 다윗의 왕위 계승을 인정합니다. 그리고 사울은 확신하면서 다윗이 반드시 왕이 될 것을 알고 이스라엘이 너의 손으로 견고하게 일어날 거라고 하는데요. 사울이 뭐라고 그런 예언을 하는지도 모르겠습니다. 아무튼, 그러면서 사울은 다윗에게 요청을 합니다. 너는 나를 위해 여호와께 맹세하라며 네 후손을 끊지 아니하며 내 아버지의 집에서 내 이름을 멸하지 아니할 것을 맹세하라고 합니다. 그러니까 자기와 자기 가문을 살려달라는 소리 같네요. 그냥 나 좀 살려줘. 자비를 베풀어줘, 그런 것입니다.

 

3.1. 다윗의 맹세와 각자의 길로

사울은 그렇게 확답을 받고 돌아가고 다윗도 그의 사람들과 다시 요새로 올라갔습니다. 왠지 이렇게 끝날 것 같지는 않은데요. 만약에 사울이 저러고도 또 뻘짓을 한다면 완전 쓰레기겠네요.

 

20 And now, behold, I know that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be establisthed in your hand. 21 Swear to me therefore by the LOrd that you will not destroy my name out of father's house."

22. And David swore this to Saul. THEN Saul went hime, but David and his men went up to the stronghold.
