사울에게 마지막 축복을 받은 다윗 사무엘상 26장

사무엘상 26장은 다윗이 사울 왕을 두 번째로 살려주는 내용으로 다윗의 의로움 그리고 사울의 완고함이 극명하게 드러나는 장입니다.

다윗을 다시 추격하는 사울

사무엘상 25장 읽기

1. Then the Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah, saying, "Is not David hiding himself on the hill of Hachilah, which is on the east of Jeshimon?" 2. So Saul arose and went down to the wilderness of Ziph with three thousand chosen men of Israel to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph. 3. And Saul encamped on the hill of Hachilah, which is beside the road on the east of Jeshimon. But David remained in the wilderness. When he saw that Saul came after him into the wilderness, 4 David sent out spies and learned that Saul had come. 5 Then David rose and came to the had come. 5 Then David rose and came to the place where Saul had encamped. And David saw the place where Saul lay, with Abner the son of Ner, the commander of his army. Saul was lying within the encampment, while the army was encamped round him.

사울은 아무래도 보통 집요하거나 미치광이가 아닌 것 같습니다. 비굴함의 전형을 보여주는데요. 인간이 왜 저렇게 망가졌나 싶어 보일 정도입니다. 사람들은 사울에게 다윗이 있는 곳을 알려주고 사울은 3000명의 병력을 이끌고 다윗을 추격하기 시작합니다. 이 소식을 다윗도 듣게 되고 다윗은 보다 전략적으로 야간 침투조를 계획합니다.

다윗의 담대한 제안

성경 속 사무엘의 정치적 야망에 관하여

 

다윗에게 정찰 보고를 한 두 명의 용사 헷사람 아히멜렉과 스루야의 아들 아비새에게 다윗이 물어봅니다. 누가 나와 함께 사울에게 갈 거냐고 하니 스루야의 아들 아비새가 자기가 간다고 하였습니다. 둘 다 죽을 수도 있는 일인데 아비새가 상당히 용감한 결단을 한 것입니다. 그런데 아비새는 다윗에게 사울을 놓치지 말고 꼭 죽여야 한다고 말합니다.

 

6. Then David said to AHImelech the Hittite, and to Joab's brother Abishai the son of Zeruiah, "Who will go down with me into the camp to Saul?" And Abishai said, "I will go down with you." 7. So DAvid and Abishai went to the army by night. ANd there lay SAul sleeping within the encampment, with his spear stuck in the ground at his head, and Abner and the army lay round him. 8 THEN said Abishai to David, "God has given your enemy into your hand this day. Now please let me pin him to the earth with one stroke of the spear, and I will not strike him twice."

 

9 But David said to ABishai, "Do not destroy him, for who can put out his hand against the Lord's anointed and be guiltless?"10 And David said, "As the LORD LIVes, the Lord will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he will go down into battle and perish. 11 THE Lord forbid that I should put out my hand against the Lord's anointed. But take now the spear that is at his head and the jar of water, and let us go." 12 So David took the spear and the jar of water from Saul's head, and they went away. No man saw it or knew it, nor did any awake, for they were all asleep, because a deep sleep from the Lord had fallen upon them.

 

그런데 다윗은 단호하게 거절합니다. 여호와께서 기름 부으신 자를 해하면 안 된다고 합니다. 성경에서 다윗을 추앙하는 이유는 모든 순간 순간 신의 뜻을 존중하였기 때문입니다. 10절도 인상적입니다. 여호와께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니, 여호와께서 그를 치시리니, 혹 죽을 날이 이르거나 혹 전쟁에서 망하리라, 그러니까 다윗은 자기 손으로 피를 묻히지 않겠다는 거였죠. 그리고 아비새에게 사울을 죽이는 대신 사울의 머리맡에 있는 창과 물병만 가지고 나오자고 합니다.

3. 사울의 호위병 아브넬에게

아무도 모르게 사울이 잠든 방에 잠입하여 창과 물병을 가지고 나온 후 다윗는 사울의 호위병 대장 아브넬에게 소리칩니다. 왕을 제대로 호위하지 못하고 뭐 하는 거임? 내가 왔다 갔지요.

13. Then David went over to the other side and stood far off on the top of the hill, with a great space between them. 14 And David called to the army, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, "Will you not answer, Abner?" Then Abner ansered, "Who are you who calls to the king?" 15 And David said to ABner."ARE you not a man? Who is like you in Israel? Why then have you not kept watch over your lord the king? For one of the people came in to destroy the king your lord. 16 THIS thing that you have done is not good. As the Lord lives, you deserve to die, because you have not kept watch over your lord, the Lord's anointed. AND NOw see where the king's spear is and the jar of water that was at his head."

4. 내 아들 다윗아?

다윗이 사울을 죽일 수 있는 완벽한 기회가 있었음에도 다윗은 죽이지 않고 돌아왔습니다. 이에 사울은 또 한 번 크게 뉘우치고 내 아들 다윗아 이러고 부릅니다. 이것이 아들의 친구여서 그런 것인지 일시적인 친밀함 때문이었는지는 모르겠지만 개인적으로는 사울이 자기가 하나님인 줄 아나 보다 싶은 생각이 들었습니다.

 

17 Saul recognized David voice and said, "Is this your voice, my son David?" AND David said, "It is my voice, my son my Lord pursue after his servant? For what have I done? What evil is on my hands? 19 Now therefore let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If it is the Lord who has stirred you up against me, may he accept an offering, but if it is men, may they be cursed before the Lord, for they have driven me out this day that I should have no share in the heritage of the Lord, saying, 'Go, serve other gods.' 20 Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth away from the presence of the Lord, for the king of Israel has come out to seek a single flea like one who hunts a partridge in the mountains."

 

21. Then Saul said, "I have sinned. Return, my son David, for I will no more do you harm, because my life was precious in your eyes this day. Behold, I HAVE acted foolishly, and have made a great mistake." 22 And David answered and said, "Here is the spear, O KING! Let one of the young men come over and take it. 23 THE Lord rewards every men for his righteousness and his faithfulness, for the Lord gave you into my hand today, and I would not put out my hand against the Lord's anointed. 24 Behold, as your life was precious this day in my sight, so may my life be precious in the sight of the Lord, and may he deliver me out of all tribulation." 25 THEN Saul said to David, "Blessed be you, my son David! You will do many things and will succeed in them." So Davdi went his way, and Saul returned to his place.

 

그렇다고 다윗이 사울의 저런 회개에 감복하지는 않았으며 경계를 늦추지 않았습니다. 다윗은 먼발치서 창을 던져 돌려주었고요. 사울은 다윗에게 또 마지막 축복을 합니다. 뭐랄까 자기가 신으로 빙의해서 축복을 내린 것 같은데 말입니다. 후계자로서 인정도 하고 생명을 귀하게 여겼으니 복을 받을 거라느니, 뭔가 왕의 워딩이 아닌 하나님의 워딩을 흉내 내는 기분이 드네요. 그렇게 일단 각자의 처소로 돌아가는 걸로 마무리되었습니다.
