짐승의 시대 삼손의 난폭함 사사기 15장

사사기 15장은 아주 처참합니다. 무슨 한 편의 폭력물을 본 기분입니다. 복수에 복수를 하고 삼손은 끝도 없이 사람을 죽이고 20년간 사사로 활동합니다. 거의 짐승에 가까운 인간이 사사를 맡았으니 이스라엘은 갈 때까지 간 것 같습니다.

아내를 찾아간 삼손 기괴한 복수

 1. After some days, at the time of wheat harvest, Samson went to visit his wife with a young goat. And he said, "I will go in to my wife in the chamber." BUT her father would not allow him to go in. 2 And heer father said, "I really thought that you utterly hated her, so I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister more beautiful than she? Please take her instead." 3 And Samson said to them, "This time I shall be innocent in regard to the Philistines, when I do them harm."

 

며칠 후 밀 수확이 있을 무렵, 삼손은 염소 새끼를 가지고 다시 블레셋으로 가서 아내를 찾으러 왔다고 합니다. 분명히 14절에서 아내를 친구에게 주고 온 걸로 알고 있는데 이 무슨 생뚱맞은 전환인지 모르겠습니다. 홧김에 한 소리였는데 진짜로 친구의 아내가 되어 있다는 것을 알고 삼손은 분노를 금치 못합니다. 그러면서 이제 블레셋 사람들을 해쳐도 자신은 죄가 없다고 합니다. 와. 생뚱 생뚱 이런 생뚱이 없네요.

 

 

4 So Samson went and caught 300 foxes and took torches. And he turned them tail to tail and put a torch between each pair of tails. 5 And when he had set fire to the torches, he let the foxes go into the standing corn of the Philistines and set fire to the stacked corn and the standing com, as well as the olive orchards.

 

삼손은 여우 300마리를 잡아 꼬리를 묶고 그 사이에 횃불을 넣어 블레셋 사람들의 밭, 포도원, 감람나무밭을 모두 불태워 버립니다. 그 때문에 블레셋의 경제에 큰 영향을 미쳤다고 합니다.

 

 

6 Then the Philistines said, "Who has done this?" And they said, "Samson, the son-in;low of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion." And the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire.

 

 

그러자 블레셋 사람들이 화가 나서 삼손의 아내와 그녀의 아버지를 불태워 죽여버렸습니다. 차마 삼손은 죽이지 못하고 말입니다. 이에 삼손은 다시 이들을 벌하러 온다며 복수를 다짐합니다. 

 

7 And Samson said to them, "If this is what you do, I swear I will quit." 8 AND he struck them hip and thigh with a great blow, and he went down and stayed in the cleft of the rock of Etam.

 

그렇게 삼손은 블레셋 사람들을 무자비하게 살육하고 유다 땅의 에탐 바위 틈에 피신했습니다.

기묘하기 짝이없는 삼손의 결혼 이야기 사사기 14장

 

 

 삼손의 무지막지한 살해

9. Then the Philistines came up and encamped in Judah and made a raid on Lehi. 10 And the men of Judah said, "Why have you come up against us?" They said, "we have come up to bind SAmson, to do to him as he did to us." 11 Then 3, 000 men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and said to Samson, "Do you not know that the PHIlstines are rulers over us?" And he said to them, "As they did to me, so have I done to them." 12 And they said to him, "We have come down to bind you, that we may give you into the hands of the Philistines." And SAmson said to them, 'Swear to me that you will not attack me yourselves." 13 They said to him, "No; we will only bind you and give you into their hands. We will surely not kill you." So they bound him with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock.

 

블레셋 군대가 유다 땅에 쳐들어오자 유다 사람 3천명이나 삼손을 찾아 결박해 블레셋 사람에게 넘기겠다고 합니다. 그렇게 결박된 채 진영으로 인도됩니다. 

 

 

 14 When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting to meet him. Then the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and the ropes that were on his arms became as flax that has caught fire, and his bonds melted off his hands. 15 And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and put out his hand and took it, and with it he struck 1,000 men. 16 And Samson said, "With the jawbone of a donkey, heaps upon heaps, with the jawbone of a donkey have I struck down a thousand men."

 

 

그렇게 삼손이 레히에 도착하자 블레셋 사람들이 소리치며 달려들고, 여호와의 영이 삼손에게 강하게 임합니다. 삼손은 밧줄을 끊고 나귀 턱뼈를 집어 들어 블레셋 사람 천 명을 죽였습니다. 이 승리 후 삼손은 그곳을 라맛 레히 특 턱뼈의 언덕이라고 이름 붙였습니다. 어떻게 때마침 갓 죽은 나귀가 있었는지도 신기합니다.

하나님의 개입?

17 As soon as he had finished speaking, he threw away the jawbone out of his hand. And that place was called Ramath-lehi.

 18 And he was very thirsty, and he called upon the Lord and said, "You have granted this great salvation by the hand of your servant, and shall I NOW die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?" 19 And God split open the hollow place that is at Lehi, and water came out from it. And when he drank, his spirit returned, and he revived. Therefore the name of it was called En-hakkore; it is at Lehi to this day. 20 And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines for twenty years.

 

 

삼손이 똘끼만 부리면 하나님의 영이 임했다고 하는데요. 그것은 진짜 아닌 것 같습니다. 아무튼 성경에는 그렇게 서술하고 있습니다. 삼손은 홀로 마구잡이로 사람을 죽이고, 그러다 갈증이 심하게 나자 하나님이 바위를 쪼개 물을 솟게 하였답니다. 그래서 그 물을 엔학고레, 즉 부르짖는 자의 샘이라고 불리게 됩니다. 이 사건 이후 삼손은 20년간 이스라엘 사사로 활동하였습니다.
