장인과의 갈등으로 고향으로 돌아갈 결심을 하는 야곱(창세기 31장 1절~16절)

반란이라고 하면 반란이고 정당한 요구와 행위라면 행위라고 볼 수 있는 대목이 창세기 31장에 등장합니다. 야곱은 라반의 폭리에 못 참겠다며 자신이 일궈 놓은 재산과 가족들을 이끌고 고향으로 가고자 결심합니다. 이에 그의 결정을 뒷밤침할 베델의 하나님이 나타나서 결정을 부추깁니다.

 

 

 

 

 

어딜 가나 난 놈은 욕을 먹는 법

 

31. Now Jacob heard that the sons of Laban were saying, "Jacob has taken all that was our father's, and from what was our father's he has gained all this wealth."

2. And Jacob saw that Laban did not regard him with favour as before.

3. Then the Lord said to Jacob, "Return to the land of your fathers and to your kindred, and I will be with you."

 

창세기 30장 야곱의 꾀 편을 보면 야곱이 라반의 뛰는 놈 위에 나는 놈 버전으로다 소위 원시적인 유전자 변형을 통해 건강한 염소 증식으로 부자가 됩니다. 이를 두고 라반의 아들들은 야곱이 자신의 아버지 재산을 다 뺏어 갔다고 원망하고 이에 야곱은 억울한 측면이 있었겠죠. 그리고 이젠 정말로 떠나야 할 때를 안 것인지 하나님이 야곱에고 고향으로 돌아가라고 합니다.

 

 

 

여기서 좀 얄밉다는 생각이 드는데요. 항상 하나님의 축복을 받은 아브라함의 자손들은 항상 남의 땅에서 능력을 발휘하고 주변의 시샘을 받고 막대한 부를 쟁취하고 떠나는 패턴을 반복합니다. 애초부터 그들이 살기 좋은 터전을 만들어 두고 정착하게 하면 될 것을 항상 분란을 만들고 거기서 능력 또한 출중하니 원주민들은 시기 질투가 난무하는 겁니다. 그래서 인간에 의해 쓰인 성경은 마치 기득권자가 자신들의 조상들이 일궈 놓은 업적을 합리화하기 위해 써 놓은 경전이 아닌가 싶은 생각이 들 정도입니다. 나 자신이 하나님의 축복을 받은 혈통이라면 믿어 의심치 않고 오히려 하나님의 축복을 기대하면서 맹신하겠지만 믿지 않는 주변인의 관점으로 보면 왠지 소외감 들고 억울하고 부당하다는 생각이 들 것 같습니다. 

 

 

 

 

 임금 부당 착취 장인과 사위 관계

 

4. So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah into the field where his flock was

5. and said to them, " I see that your father does not regard me with favour as he did before. But the God of my father has been with me.

6. You know that I have served your father with all my strength, 

7. yet your father has cheated me and changed my wages ten times. But God did not permit him to harm me.

8. If he said, "The spotted shall be your wages, then all the flock bore spotted; and if he said, ' The striped shall be your wages,' then all the flock bore striped.

 

야곱은 장인 어른 라반과의 갈등, 또한 그의 임금 부당 착취에 관한 만행을 자신의 아내 라헬과 레아에게 털어놓습니다.

 

9. Thus God has taken away the livestock of your father and given them to me.

10.In the breeding season of the flock I lifted up my eyes and saw in a dream that the goats that mated with the flock were striped, spotted, and mottled.

11. Then the angel of God said to me in the dream, 'Jacob', and I said, 'Here I am!"

12. And he said, 'Lift up your eyes and see, all the goats that mate with the flock are strioed, spotted, and mottled, for I have seen all that Laban is doing to you.

 

그리고는  창세기 30장 야곱의 꾀는 꿈에 하나님이 알려준 소스인 것처럼 얘기를 하는 것 같네요.

 

 

 

 베델의 하나님

 

 

 

 

13. I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and made a vow to me. Now arise, go out from this land and return to the land of your kindred.'"

14. Then Rachel and Leah answered and said to him, "Is there any portion or inheritance left to us in our father's house?

15. Are we not regarded by him as foreigners? For he has sold us, and he has indeed devoured our money.

16. All the wealth that God has taken away from our father belongs to us and to our children. Now then, whatever God has said to you, do."

 

창세기 28장 야곱의 사다리 꿈과 꿈을 꾸고 난 후 야곱이 그 자리에 베델 하우스를 짓습니다. 그리고 그곳에 십일조 맹세를 하였죠. 그래서 하나님이 베델의 하나님이라고 나타납니다. 그리고 하나님이 고향으로 돌아가라며 라헬과 레아의 아버지의 유산은 모두 너희들 거라고 합니다.
