요셉 꿈의 해석(창세기 40장)

창세기 40장은 요셉이 신묘한 꿈의 해석을 하는 에피소드편입니다. 요셉은 창조주에게 무슨 능력을 받은 것인지 꿈의 해석을 찰지게 잘하는지 흥미로운 이야기였습니다.

 

 

이집트 왕에게 죄를 지은 하인들

 

1. Some time after this, the cupbearer of the king of Egypt and his baker committed an offence against their lord the kinf of Egypt.

2. And Pharaoh was angry with his two officers, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, 

3. and he put therm in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the prison where Joseph was confined.

4. The captain of the guard appointed Joseph to be with them, and he attended them. They continued for some time in custody.

 

술따르는 시종과 빵을 만드는 제빵사가 왕의 심기를 불편하게 했는가 봅니다. 그래서 이들이 감옥에 갇히게 되는데요.

 

 

 

 

 

 꿈의 해석

 

 

5. And one night they both dreamed- the cupbearer and the baker of the kinf of Egypt, who were confined in the prison- each his own dream, and each dream with its own interpretation.

6. When Joseph came to them in the morning, he saw that they were troubled.

7.So he asked Pharaoh's officers who were with him in custody inhis master's house, "Why are your faces downcast today?"

8. They said to him, "We have had dreams, and there is no one to interpret them." And Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? please tell them to me."

 

 

 

요셉이 이들을 찾아와 보니 얼굴이 침울해서 물어봅니다. 왜 이렇게 얼굴이 침울하느냐고 묻습니다. 그랬더니 자신들이 꿈을 꾸었는데 아무도 해석할 사람이 없다고 합니다. 그러면서 요셉에게 꿈을 해석해 달라고 합니다.

 

 꿈 이야기

 

 

 

9. So the chief cupbearer told his dream to Joseph and said to him, "In my dream there was a vine before me, 

10. and on the vine there were three branches. As soon as it budded, its blossoms shot forth, and the clusters ripened into grapes. 

11. Pharaoh's cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh;s cup and placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand."

12. Then Joseph said to him, "This is its interpretation: the three branches are three days.

13. In three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your office, and you shall place Pharaoh's cup in his hand as formerly, when you were his cupbearer.

14. Only remember me, when it is well with you, and please do me the kindness to mention me to Pharaoh, and so get me out of this house.

15. For I was indeed stolen out of the land of the Hebrews, and here also I have done nothing that they should put me tinto the pit."

 

 

 

술 따르는 시종의 꿈은 자기 앞에 포도 나무가 있었고 덩굴에는 세 개의 가지가 있었고 싹이 트자마자 꽃이 피고 포도가 익었다고 합니다. 그리고 파라오의 잔이 자기 손에 들렸고 자신은 포도를 가져다가 왕의 잔에 눌러 담고 그 잔을 왕의 손에 놓았다고 합니다. 그랬더니 요셉이 이런 해석을 합니다.

어쨌든 잘 풀려서 왕이 용서하고 너는 하던 일을 하게 될 것이다. 그러니 잘 되고 나면 자신을 잊지 말고 이 집에서 나가게 해다라고 하였습니다. 그러면서 자신은 히브리인들의 땅에서 도둑 맞았고 자신은 잘못한 일이 없다고 하였습니다.

 

 

 

 

 제빵사의 꿈도 해석과 결과

 

16. When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was favourable, he said to Joseph, "I also had a dream: there were three cake baskets on my head,

17. and in the uppermost basket there were all sorts of baked food for Pharaoh, but the birds were eating it out of the basket on my head."

18. And Joseph answered and said, "This is its interpretation: the three baskets are three days.

19. In there days Pharaoh will lift up your head-from you!-and hang you on a tree. And the birds will eat the flesh from you."

 

그러자 제빵사도 자기 꿈을 해석해 달라고 합니다. 자신의 머리 위에 케이크 바구니가 세 개 있었는데 맨 위 바구니에는 파라오를 위한 모든 종류의 구운 음식이 있었지만 새들이 자신의 머리 위의 바구니에서 그것을 먹고 있었다고 하였습니다. 그러자 요셉이 해석하기를 바구니 세 개는 사흘을 의미하고 사흘 뒤 파라오가 당신의 머리를 들어 나무에 매달면 새들이 와서 당신의 살을 뜯어 먹을 거라고 하였습니다.

 

 

 

20. On the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, he made a feast for all his servants and lifted up the head of the chief cupbeater and the head of the chief baker among his servants.

21. He restored the chief cupbearer to his position, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand.

22. But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them.

23. Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.

 

그렇게 삼일 뒤 파라오 왕의 생일 날 술 따르는 종은 별 탈이 없었고 제빵사는 교수형에 처했습니다. 그러나 술 따르는 종이 요셉을 완전 생까버렸네요.
